It's week 25 and all is well.
The tech person was only able to get babe #1 in a profile (this is an image of only the head in profile -- it's hard to see, but if you look at it long enough you'll see his/her profile). Babe #2 wasn't cooperating for the photo op.
They are almost exactly the same weight of almost 2 lbs. each (great!), there is plenty of amniotic fluid around each babe (woo hoo!) and my contractions don't seem to be effecting my cervix at all (yippee!). And, just as I suspected, baby #2 flipped around this past weekend (I knew I felt something weird goin' on!) and they both have their heads down (which the tech seemed to think was a very good thing). On the ultrasound screen, the heads looked like they were practically knocking into each other. I bet they are having a blast just chit chatting away in their lil amniotic floaty world.....

party time!
I feel like I just completed a party marathon. First there was Soren's Valentine party at his school (I'm the class Room Mother), then I had a "Schmoozing with the Stars" party on Saturday night with the guests dressed as a movie character, couple, whatever and then Mr. Incredible's birthday was tonight.
*whew*
I am e.x.h.a.u.s.t.e.d. I have definitely turned a corner in my pregnancy. Not a very good corner. I am absolutely w i p e d o u t -- especially at the end of the day. Yes, I have been extremely busy and on my feet fairly constantly, but I feel different. Very different. I am worn out without doing much, I am having contractions (PAINFUL contractions), and by the end of the day I feel like my body is going to break into pieces. I'm guessing this party marathon was my "last hurrah" and now it's time to hunker down and lie down...as much as possible. The babes are taking over my body and have completely taken control.
It's going to be a looooong three months ahead......assuming they stay good 'n healthy and in my belly until May..... (they better!!)
Here are the pictures from my marathon of partying:
SCHMOOZING WITH THE STARS
Unfortunately I never got around to taking a picture of the spread of food and decorations, but these are the star cookies I made to go with the theme.
The guys havin' some guy talk.
The gals havin' gal talk.
Marge and Norm from "Fargo". (I'm the pregnant policewoman and he's my hubby, in case you don't know the movie.)
Pebbles and Bam Bam!
Forest Gump and Jenny (the love of his life)
Who do you think??
MR. INCREDIBLE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
Eclairs, one of his very fave desserts.
birthday messiness
birthday goofiness
Tomorrow I'm off to yet another appointment to check if all is well with my lil nuggets. I hope this party marathon didn't put my wee babes in danger. Since they are healthily kicking away (as I type, as a matter of fact), I feel good about it. But not good enough to take on another marathon.....

the month o' love....
...fills our house o' love....
I have always loved Valentine's Day because what could be better than celebrating love? Even in my single days I felt that way. But now it truly is the month of love since the love of my life was born the day after Valentine's Day. He wanted to make our house more festive, so he made these this year:
There's one in each bedroom window...and in each bedroom sleeps the greatest loves of my life. I know it's sappy, but c'mon, love is sappy, so why try to be anything but sappy during this holiday??
Not to be outdone, my boy and I made melted crayon hearts for the rest of the windows (well, not all of them....).
And then I made my traditional (only for the second year in a row, but who's counting?) Heart Cookie Pops.
My boy then made his valentines for each of his classmates:
The finished product (yes, he made one for himself...why not?):
I made some salted and regular caramels to send to some valentines who live far away and who are going through a rough time:
Yes, it has been a very busy month o' love. Like I said, love is very much worth celebrating -- especially when you have so much around you!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

mom my ride
So...I've finally officially entered the world of being a "true mom". My ride has been mom'd.
I gots me a new cah in my garage, yo.
No sense in even trying to be "cool" anymore. It will be just another minivan in the parking lot of a school, park or grocery store. *sigh*
Goodbye Volvo. *sniff*sniff*
My static-haired girl was even sad...although, that girl will cry over A N Y T H I N G. Seriously. As I've mentioned before, the girl doesn't hold back when it comes to whining and crying. She was actually crying because she would "miss having a light in the back seat". Yep, das right. That's what made her cry. It truly doesn't take much to make her lose it. Good times for mom.
Ba bye Volvo.....
(This truly does feel surreal...I honestly and truly never, ever thought I would have four children let alone a minivan.... This is all seeming to feel less and less real to me rather than moreso. Hmmmm...I'm not sure that's a good thing.....)
If you haven't seen this video already, you gotta check it out. So dang funny.
