strawberries!!!!

The "red ripe strawberries" (as Soren calls them) have arrived in our garden!!!!

My farm boy worked berry berry hard...(yes, that's him bending down to the ground -- he does NOT mess around!)

...my pickers picked...

...and we enjoyed the fruits of our labor...

...and made berry funny faces at each other....

...and at the camera.

And then we had them for dessert with some yummy fondue....

Them are some berry yummy strawberries!! A big thanks to my big farm boy!

the merry month of may

I decided to try something new and make a slide show of our busy month of may...the month that my mom has always said, "should be against the law!" because it is ALWAYS so BUSY. Since my kidlings aren't involved in any activities or in school yet, it wasn't crazy busy...just FUN busy with a few wonderful house guests.... Enjoy!
(warning: it's long...I had lots of pics to share!)

happy memorial day!

This random piece of "rock art" on the side of a road in rural Iowa says it all (the quotes are especially good):

The teenage artist and his rock:

I love random acts of art.

I am so very grateful for our country's veterans and soldiers. Freedom isn't free.

may flowers

These were the first to pop up in our yard:

Then came these:

Then I looked out my front window and saw these:

Then the tulips finally showed up:

And they sure made an entrance:

This is what I see when I look out my bedroom window:

I love my view! And I sure love my Farm Boy. (note: He planted the flowers that would bloom first on the outside of the circle, then while they were dying off, the tulips showed up. That was on purpose so that I would "always have flowers blooming". The man sure knows his stuff.)

Some more beauties....
